Been working on the Journal / Log thing for a while now and I finally have something to show. Lots of placeholder stuff but you get the idea.

In here you will be able to see:

  • Details about current quests and objectives
  • Check an item glossary of things you found, used or ran into
  • Check a bestiary for information and stats of every enemy you killed
  • Read Lore pages you have found.

More soon as I polish it up adding actual Icons and Monster depictions etc.

Level Up!
I’ve been thinking about how to make Leveling up a bit more engaging without it being over complicated. Ended up with this idea of having some stats increasing automatically every number of levels while other stats (STR, DEX and INT) will be stats that the player can invest a point in each level. This will allow some level of customization while also keeping everything light and simple.

Of course this might change as I play around with testing and balancing but for now it feels good!

Hope you all have a great 2019!

Hi.

I know I haven’t posted in ages. Been extremely busy with personal stuff so work on WishGranter has slowed down quite a bit and unfortunately it’s going to be like this for a while. That being said, the Wishgranter is still in development and it will still see a release someday.

Something I’ve been working on is a new enemy which you can see here. It’s a little flaming eyeball guy that shoots from a distance and disappears when you get too close. Pretty simple to kill when he’s alone but he’s much more of a nuisance when you’re trying to fend off 2 or more other enemies.

It was interesting making this guy because unlike other enemies, most of his visuals are done through code instead of sprites. I wanted to work this way to have the eye follow the player and have the little flame particles coming out of him procedural. Didn’t turn out half bad!

PS: the video here is REALLY bad quality. I couldn’t upload a GIF coz tumblr was complaining about the size so I converted to video and then tumblr further reduced the quality on processing. Much better quality gif here.

That is all for now. Thanks to everyone for the support, likes and follows.

More progress on the Wishgranter System Interface!
I am very proud of the fancy bar I made for the unlocks.

So to explain a bit what’s going on with this interface, at the end of each Dungeon there is a dungeon heart. Interacting with this Dungeon Heart essentially completes the dungeon and engages the Wishgranter. All the souls you have gathered during the Dungeon Run will be absorbed by the Heart and will be available to spend for Wishes.

There are 2 categories of wishes. One of them contains wishes that you essentially ‘buy’, and you will need to have the souls right there and then, and the other category contains unlocks which you can invest in after each dungeon run to unlock eventually.

The souls that you do not spend will be lost so it’s smart to buy what you need if you afford it and invest the rest in unlocks. There are also Soul shards involved but more on that in the next post.

Thats all for now, I hope you guys like what you see!

Started working on the interface for the Wishgranter System!
This is the last big feature that I want to implement before early access and it’s moving along nicely.

Still a long way to go but I thought I’d show some progress since I haven’t posted in ages. I will explain in detail once it’s a little bit more functional but basically there will be two kinds of things you can get with souls.

The first tab contains things you ‘buy’ while the second tab contains things you unlock.

More later this week! (hopefully)

tinyweab-desu asked:

Will there be an early access? And is wired controllers compatible with it?

Yes there will be Early Access. It’s unfortunately inevitable since I’m just one man making the game.

Also yes it will be compatible with controllers since I am developing it controller-first. It is actually strongly recommended that you play the Wishgranter with a gamepad.

so-lost-in-her-eyes asked:

I know I have asked this a lot but since the game seems to get closer and closer to its release date..when do you plan to have an open beta or sth for it? I just cant wait to play it , it looks amazing both graphicwise and mechanic wise

Hey there!

As you said, I get asked this a lot and unfortunately I always have to reply the same way. I do not have a solid release date to announce and I don’t think I will any time soon. I want to get a beta out there for everyone to play as soon as possible but I do not want to compromise the quality of the game by rushing to meet a deadline.

If you’ve been following this blog for a while then you know my situation. This project is a labor of love for me and I am committed to doing every single aspect of the project myself. Games take time to make and in my current situation I don’t afford to take a risk and dive into developing the game full time so I currently have a day job and other stuff which unfortunately leaves very little time to work on the game.

That being said, the game is slowly getting close to being ready for initial release but I can’t make any promises. As soon as I have a solid plan, rest assured I will announce it here and on my Twitter immediately.

Thanks for your interest and your patience. I hope someday soon the Wishgranter will be something that lives up to your expectations and you can all play and enjoy!
